Put a Ring on It, Yarn Bombing Style

My friends over at Yarn Bombing Los Angeles are at it again.

Last year, they covered the Craft and Folk Art Museum with Granny Squares.

This year, they're asking you to Put a Ring On It!
source: Penny Richards via Yarn Bombing Los Angeles
From their website:
"Do you remember the childhood saying, “if you love it so much, why don’t you marry it?”
Inspired by the Beyonce song, Put a Ring on It asks what do you value so much that you would want to put a ring on it? What do you want to highlight in your life, that usually goes unrecognized?
It can be any person, place, or thing. Is there a great old building you’d like to see preserved? A favorite food only your grandmother made? The sunset over the ocean? Don’t just knit a literal yarn engagement ring – we want to see the unexpected and the under-appreciated!
YBLA wants you to put a knit or crochet ring on what you love and take a photo of it. YBLA wants photos of knit & crochet (yarn art, whatever) rings attached to the objects of your love. YBLA wants YOUR story about why you love what you love.
Make a ring, attach it, take a photo, send it to us. Looking for inspiration, or a place to begin? Check out our pattern library.
The introduction of Put a Ring on It will be in a gallery exhibition at the Manhattan Beach Creative Art Center, June 2014. Please send us a picture of your ring by May 1, 2014 to be included in the exhibition."

By the way, my ring-themed link-up is still live. I'm extending the deadline to May 1st, just like YBLA.
It's not just about patterns. Any sort of visual that is ring-like will do!

Put a Ring On It!

Once I get my internet running again, this will become a link up party. Meanwhile, I invite you all to think about the theme RINGS. Go to the end of this post if you'd like to co-host add the link-up to your own blog. (Email me if you can't figure it out).

[fifteen minutes later]

OK! Back in full connectivity!

My DOTS Party was so much fun (previous post).
To nudge myself into more frequent posting here, I'm going to try to do this every month. [April 1st I'll be on the road and in New Orleans, so we'll see how well I do with that intention].
Update, 3/14: this link party runs until May 1st!
