A to Z Blogging Challenge 2024: A is for Aiden

It's April 1, the first day of "Blogging from A to Z" with my annual (going on seven years) challenge of drawing Fluevog Shoes and creating repeating patterns with them. Eventually, these designs wind up on Redbubble and Spoonflower.

Today's shoe is the Fluevog Aiden

The A to Z Challenge is held every April. The challenge is to blog through the alphabet every Monday through Saturday. The “A” theme is blogged on April 1st, “B” April 2nd, etc.
More about the challenge can be found on the official Blogging from A to Z Challenge Blog.
It's a lot of fun! Give it a try!

Here are links for previous years' summaries:

Mark Making Experiments with Jules Mckeown

Mark making experiments!
Used a Prismacolor marker, the chisel end.

Here is the direction, on Instagram:

Super fun!
I'd like to do this with ALL my art supplies!
Meanwhile, I've done Day 2's Stripe experiments and am ready to take on Day 3, Animal patterns (my fave).

#AtoZchallenge E is for Fluevog Escarpins

Fluevog Escarpin link
Glitter uppers! And claws-on-a-ball heel!

From Fluevog:
The Escarpin was an addition to The Queen Transcendent Family that was dying to be invited to your next Holiday party. The ball & claw 3.5" heel is unique to this family and was designed by Fluevoger Jody through John's Open Source Footwear Program. It was inspired by the extravagant Cabriole legs of 18th century Louis XV furniture and gave this basic pump a whole new level of drama. With colo(u)rways in burgundy and black glitter, you had a recipe for fun as strong as your Great Aunt's eggnog. Exceed your own expectations.

Sometime I'll get that "Claw-and-Ball" motif into a workable repeat background, but not this morning.
And I wanted to Go Glitter. Party on!

#AtoZchallenge D is for Derby Swirl

Fluevog Derby Swirl link
Ha. Sharing my struggle with drawing devices. I settled on black Sharpie for the duration of my sketching portion of this project. If you click on the image, you can see it bigger.

This was Jezebel's second request in the Fluevog Friday group. Or was it Sheryl? So confused.

26 Fluevogs

May 15th was Fluevog Day (John's birthday), sadly I couldn't go to the Abbot Kinney shop due to the money job.
Instead, I made a compilation image of this year's 26 Fluevogs A-Z:
Since Redbubble was having a tee sale last week, I uploaded the art and purchased one.
No, your eyes do not deceive you: graphic crooked and not centered
Redbubble fail.

I also put the compilation into a repeat, to broaden the available products.
Here's the scarf:

Is your favorite Fluevog in this year's compilation?
Any requests for 2019's series?
